I am a life liberator and a woman who speaks from the heart and soul. Nothing gives me more pleasure than helping women liberate their lives by stepping away from fear, stepping up in their confidence, and stepping closer to a life of fulfillment.
For most of my life, I played it safe: settling for the status quo in a career that I didn’t love and feeling like I was on a hamster wheel. Until July 28, 2013, when I experienced a pulmonary embolism and nearly lost my life. This experience was scary for my family; for me, it was the wake-up call I needed to kick myself in the ass and start living my life.
A month after having a pulmonary embolism, my mother was diagnosed with a rare form of urothelial cancer. Stage 4.
My pulmonary embolism and my mom’s cancer brought clarity and fear front and center. It was at that moment that all the choices I had ever made in my life were fear-based. Making a “safe” choice kept me warm and protected. I didn’t choose to have a pulmonary embolism and I certainly didn’t decide my mom should have cancer.
This realization set the wheels in motion: I set an intention to quit my job to figure out the next chapter of my life while being fully present and in the moment. The journey allowed me to discover more about myself, my mother, and how to create a life that I loved.
My mom inspired me all the way up until her death on July 28, 2016. I feel her inspiration daily when I think of her telling me “Karen, you have choices”.
This blog is about creating hope and inspiration for women of all ages. My mission is to inspire women to learn, grow and live life according to their values rather than through fear.
